Gobi Manchurian

Manchurian is easy and takes short time to get cooked. It seems good when made in different combinations like with bread and paneer.

Ingredients which are used for making this dish are

  • Clean cauliflower broken into florettes – 1 medium sized
  • Spring onions that are finely chopped – 1 small sized
  • Finely chopped ginger – 2 tsp
  • Finely chopped garlic- 2 tsp
  • Plain flour – ¼ cup
  • Corn flour – 3 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
  • Dry red chillies – 2
  • Oil – 3 tbsp
  • Water – 1 ½ cups
  • Milk – 1 tbsp

Let the florettes boil for 3 to 4 minutes in excess of water and add one tbsp of milk. Then drain the florettes and pat dry it on clean cloth. Use flour and 2 tbsp of corn flour to make thin batter and also add ¼ tsp of garlic and ginger and add salt and red chilli according to taste. Then dip the florettes one by one in batter and fry them deeply in hot oil. Then keep it aside.

In remaining oil, put remaining garlic, ginger, red chilli and get it fry for 1 minute. Add salt and onions. Then make it stir fry for 1 minute. Add water of 1 ½ cups and boil it. Add corn flour of quantity 1 tbsp to ¼ cup of water and dissolve in well manner. Then make addition to gravy and keep stirring continuously till it boils. Boil it till gravy becomes transparent. Add soya sauce and florettes. Make it boil for 2 minutes and then remove. Then serve it hot with rice or noodles.
